Common questions
How accurate is the online estimate?
It uses our standard rates, so most quotes land within the range shown. Your final price is confirmed in a written quote once we've discussed the details.
Do you have a studio?
We usually shoot at your premises or on location. If you need a studio, we hire one near you and include the cost in your quote.
How do I book a date?
Once you approve the written quote, a deposit secures your date. The balance is due on delivery of your images.
Can we use the photos anywhere?
Standard usage covers your website, social media, internal use and PR. Paid advertising, billboards and packaging need an extended usage licence, which the checklist adds for you.
Will my photos appear in your portfolio?
Only with your permission. Client galleries are private by default, and you can ask us to remove any published image at any time.
Do you travel outside Pretoria?
Yes. Johannesburg and the rest of Gauteng carry a small travel fee. Outside Gauteng, travel and accommodation are quoted at cost.

1. Who we are
LUAM GROUP (PTY) LTD (registration number 2026/754186/07), 1204 Karriboom Street, Pretoria, Gauteng, 0186, is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and our photography services. You can contact us and our Information Officer at bonjour@luam.co.za. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need:
- Enquiries: your name, email, optional organisation name, preferred language, your message and any shoot details you choose to send.
- Clients: contact details of the people we work with, billing details needed for invoices, and records of the work we perform.
- Photographs: images of people photographed at a shoot. We use them only to deliver your images, keep secure backups, and, with written consent, in our portfolio.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, and the enquiry form does not store or transmit your details. It prepares an email that you send yourself. The online estimate tools and the site assistant also run entirely in your browser: your answers are not stored or sent anywhere unless you choose to email them to us. Please don't send us passwords, identity numbers or other sensitive information unless we ask for it through a secure method.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals (with your consent, and to take steps at your request before a contract).
- To deliver, invoice and support the services you engage us for (to perform our contract with you).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
- To keep our services and your systems secure (our legitimate interests).
We do not sell personal information, use it for profiling, or send marketing without your separate consent. We do not use client data to train AI models.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with operators that help us run the business, under confidentiality obligations: our email and document storage providers, our accounting and banking providers, our online gallery provider, and, where you ask us, third parties such as a hair and make-up artist or studio. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
5. Cross-border transfers
Some of our service providers store data outside South Africa, and some clients are based outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we do so only as permitted by section 72 of POPIA, for example where the recipient is subject to comparable data protection laws or binding agreements, or where the transfer is necessary to perform our contract with you.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted within 12 months. Client and financial records are kept for as long as required by law, generally five years under South African tax legislation, and then deleted or anonymised. Delivered images are backed up for at least 12 months and then deleted unless you ask us to keep them longer.
7. Security
We use multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access, encrypted devices and reputable providers. Shoot files are backed up to two places on site and stored encrypted. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
9. Your rights
You may ask whether we hold your personal information and request access to it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Use our data and deletion request page. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
Terms of Service
1. About these terms
These terms apply to photography and media services provided by LUAM GROUP (PTY) LTD, trading as LUAM Photography ("we", "us"), to you, the client. Each booking is described in a written quote. If a quote conflicts with these terms, the quote applies for that booking.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and authorised to enter into agreements for yourself or the organisation you represent.
3. Estimates and quotes
Estimates on this website are a guide based on our standard rates. They are not an offer. The price you pay is the one in the written quote you accept.
4. Booking, fees and payment
- Your date is reserved once you accept the quote in writing and the deposit stated in the quote is received.
- The balance is payable as set out in the quote, normally on delivery of the final images.
- Extra time on the day, extra images or work outside the quote are charged at the rates in the quote, and only with your approval.
- Third-party costs such as studio hire, travel outside Gauteng, props or a hair and make-up artist are shown separately in the quote.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide access to the location, a contact person on the day, and any permits the location requires.
- Make sure the people being photographed know about the shoot and, where needed, have agreed to be photographed.
- Supply products, branding and any props agreed in the shot list on time.
6. Delivery
Edited images are delivered through a private online gallery within the period stated in the quote. Download your images promptly: galleries remain available for at least 60 days. We keep a backup of delivered images for at least 12 months.
7. Copyright and usage
We own the copyright in the photographs. Once paid in full, you receive a non-exclusive licence to use the delivered images for the purposes in your quote. Standard usage covers your website, social media, internal communication and public relations. Paid advertising, billboards, packaging and resale need an extended usage licence. You may not sell the images or present them as your own work, and you may not substantially alter them without our agreement, apart from normal cropping.
8. Portfolio use
We may show selected images in our portfolio only with your written permission. Images of identifiable people are never published without consent, and we never publish confidential material.
9. Weather and circumstances beyond our control
For outdoor shoots, if weather or another event outside our control makes the shoot impossible, we will agree a new date with you at no extra cost.
10. Liability
We take great care to protect your files and back up every shoot on site. If equipment failure or file loss prevents delivery, our liability is limited to a reshoot or a refund of the fees paid for the affected part of the booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
11. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellations and refunds are handled under our refund policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will first be discussed in good faith and, if unresolved, may be referred to a competent court in Gauteng.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Changes do not affect bookings already accepted.
Refund Policy
Estimates and planning calls
Online estimates and planning calls are free, so no refund applies.
Rescheduling
- With at least 72 hours' notice, you can move your date once at no cost, subject to availability.
- With less notice, we will try to move the date, but a rescheduling fee may apply, as stated in your quote.
Cancellations
- More than 14 days before the shoot: your deposit is refunded, less any third-party costs already paid on your behalf.
- 14 days or less before the shoot: the deposit is kept to cover the reserved date, unless we can rebook it.
- If we cancel, you receive a full refund or a new date, your choice.
If something isn't right
If delivered images do not match the agreed shot list or quality, tell us within 14 days of delivery. We will re-edit or reshoot the affected part at no cost. If we cannot, we will refund the fees for that part.
How refunds are paid
Request a refund by emailing bonjour@luam.co.za. Approved refunds are paid to the original payment account within 14 business days.
Your statutory rights
This policy does not limit any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, where they apply.

Summary
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts are embedded in the site, so your browser makes no requests to font providers or other third parties.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, or withdraw consent. There is no charge for a simple request.
How it works
- We confirm receipt and may verify your identity by replying to the email address you used with us. We will not ask for a copy of your ID unless there is no other way to verify you.
- We respond within 30 days.
- Deletion requests are completed across our systems and providers, except for records we must keep by law, such as invoices. We will tell you what was kept and why.

Policies
Our terms of service, refund policy, privacy policy and cookie policy apply to all engagements. Deposits and payments are made by electronic funds transfer to the company bank account shown on our invoices. We never ask you to pay into a personal account, and we will never change banking details by email alone.
